8-WEEK IN PRACTICE COMPONENT*
The In Practice Component is an 8-week online program that satisfies the Work Experience requirements of the Practical Legal Training program.
The In Practice Component does not require you to complete any work experience.
The In Practice Component is an online program which you can complete anywhere at any time – all you need is your laptop.

- Structured mentoring sessions with an experienced legal practitioner
- Dedicated support for the entire course duration
The 0-day work experience option is available for students whose PLT course ends before 24 June 2024. Please note, this option is not available for students whose course ends after this date.
Coursework
The In Practice Component has seven activities that take place over an eight week period that consist of:
- Respond to a complex hypothetical situation
- Scheduled one-to-one discussions with a legal practitioner
- Five Legal Business Skills series modules

Seven written reflections
The recommended study load is up to 35 hours per week.
Frequently asked questions
- Will I need to be logged on at specific times?

For the most of the course, you will not have to be logged on at set times. You can log on when it suits you to complete the tasks required.
You will need to participate in a formal negotiation with another student via video conference at a time to be arranged and confirmed with your lecturer.You will also participate in three one-to-one mentoring sessions with a legal practitioner. Each session is 30 minutes in length and is held via video conference. - Am I eligible to enrol?

- If you have indicated you are paying by FEE-HELP, we will email you a link to the FEE-HELP form once we have received your application.
