OVERVIEW

If you are admitted to practice outside Australia and are seeking admission in Australia, you may apply to the relevant admitting authority of a state or territory for full or partial exemption from completion of practical legal training (PLT) requirements.

The College of Law offers Part PLT Programs, for those lawyers who are required by the admitting authorities in New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland, Victoria or Western Australia, to complete some subjects of the PLT program but who have been granted exemption from other subjects of practical legal training requirements for admission in those states.

Please check with the relevant Admitting Authority before enrolling, to determine which subjects you will need to complete.

Entry Requirements

There are no waiting lists or quotas for the Part Program.

To apply for this program you must hold a law degree from outside Australia.

You will need:

  • A copy of the letter issued by the appropriate Admitting Authority, advising of the determination regarding partial exemption from Practical Legal Training
