Terms and Conditions


Professional Development Programs, the Legal Practice Management Course, Centre for Legal Innovation programs and Master of Legal Business Non-Award Study subjects.

The following Terms and Conditions apply to all College of Law short programs (CPD)*, the Legal Practice Management Course, Centre for Legal Innovation programs and the Master of Legal Business (MLB) Non-Award subjects.

If enrolling online, by ticking the Terms and Conditions box you are agreeing to the following:


Cancellations and Refunds - Professional Development programs and Legal Practice Management courses

We understand that sometimes circumstances will prevent you from attending a program you have paid for. Please note that a cancellation fee will apply and is deducted from the refund when you cancel, up to the day before the program. 

No refunds are available the day of or after the program, or in the case of on-demand programs, once the login details and password have been sent.  

Refunds will only be credited to the original funding source or via other means as agreed by the College.

All fees below include GST, unless otherwise stated.

Cancellation of programs

The College reserves the right to re-schedule or cancel seminars and programs, and to change speakers or revise content as required. We will endeavour to offer an alternative where possible; where not possible a full refund will be issued. 


Legal Practice Management Course  

In addition to the above terms and conditions if you enrol in the Legal Practice Management Course you also agree to abide by the LPMC Program Manual.

Queensland Entry Requirements

The QLS Practice Management Course (PMC) is open to all Australian lawyers. An Australian lawyer as defined by the Legal Professional Act 2007, is a person who is admitted to the legal profession under the Act or a corresponding law. By submitting your enrolment, you are declaring that you are an Australian lawyer and are not operating under any exclusion from undertaking PMC for 12 months, and are therefore eligible to attend the course.


Master of Legal Business (MLB) Non-Award subjects

In addition to the above terms and conditions if you enrol in a Master of Legal Business Non-Award subject you also agree to abide by the MLB Non-Award Study Rules.


If you cancel up to ten (10) business days before the start date, you will receive a full refund. Any cancellations after that time will not be eligible for a refund however you are eligible to transfer.


You may transfer to another available MLB Non-Award subject at no cost, provided you make a request up to ten (10) business days before the start date. An administration fee of 10% of the subject fee will apply if a request is made after that time but before the subject starts.


If you are unable to attend the subject that you are enrolled in, another person may attend the subject in your place for the entire subject at no extra charge, provided that:

  1. you let us know in writing before the subject starts; and
  2. you and that person respectively agree to any terms and conditions which may apply in this case.


The College will not accept any changes in enrolments, including transfers, after the subject starts.

Full subject fee is payable for non-attendance.


Centre for Legal Innovation

Innovation in Legal Practice Summit 2019

  • If you withdraw on or before 3 May 2019, a full refund of the Summit registration fee will be available excluding a $100 administration fee.
  • If you withdraw on or after 4 May 2019 up to and including 5 July 2019, a refund of 50% only of the Summit registration fee will be made.
  • If you withdraw on or after 6 July 2019, no refund will be made.


Chief Innovation Officers Forum

No refunds are available for membership dues paid for the Chief Innovation Officers Forum.


Legalpreneurs Lab

No refunds are available for membership dues paid for the Legalpreneurs Lab.


New Lawyer Program discount

New lawyers (less than three years in practice) are eligible for a 50% discount off the registration price of the Professional Development programs included in our New Lawyer Program. When claiming this discount, we will confirm the applicants' years in practice. 

This discount is limited to the programs listed on the New Lawyer Program page only and will not apply to any other programs. Please check the course code when booking your program.

This discount is also not available in conjunction with any other discounts, including the alumni/Law Society member discount.

This discount cannot be retroactively claimed on courses purchased prior to 20 November 2017.
