HERE’S HOW TO FAST-TRACK YOUR LLM

CLOSER TO YOUR LLM THAN YOU THINK

If you’ve completed your PLT, specialist accreditation or other postgraduate legal study, you may already be partway through a Master of Laws (Applied Law), without realising it.

At the College of Law, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) gives you credit for what you’ve already achieved, reducing the number of subjects you need to complete and saving you time and money.

Here’s how it works.

Completed your PLT with the College? You’re two subjects ahead.

If you finished your Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (PLT) with the College of Law in the last 10 years, you may be eligible for two elective subject credits toward your Master of Laws (Applied Law). That brings the total number of subjects down from eight to six.

Other recognised experience and study

You may also be eligible for RPL if you’ve completed:

  • Specialist Accreditation, usually credited toward foundation or capstone subjects
  • The College of Law Legal Practice Management Course (within the last 5 years)
  • Other postgraduate legal studies, including relevant Graduate Diplomas or Graduate Certificates from recognised institutions

RPL applies to the Master of Laws (Applied Law) program only.
