ABOUT

If you're employed at a Community Justice Centre, Legal Aid, or the Aboriginal Legal Service, you may be eligible for a 50% bursary toward your Practical Legal Training (PLT).

At the College of Law, we believe in the power of legal professionals to create positive change—especially those working at the heart of their communities. To further support this vital work, we’ve expanded our bursary program to offer a 50% fee reduction for eligible students and graduates.

Whether you’re in a legal, administrative, client support, or community outreach role, you may be eligible for this bursary. Our goal is to make the transition to practice as smooth and accessible as possible, so you can focus on building your skills and supporting your community.

From 1 March 2025, eligible students may apply for a bursary prior to enrolment that brings their total PLT fees down to $4,600.

This initiative is part of a broader investment in legal education and support for public sector and community-based legal professionals, as outlined in our recent Board update.

WHO CAN APPLY?

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are a law graduate or a final-year law student

  • Are employed in any role (legal or non-legal) at a Community Justice Centre, Legal Aid, or the Aboriginal Legal Service at the time you apply

  • Meet the standard entry requirements for the College of Law’s PLT program

Not sure if you’re eligible? We encourage you to get in touch—our team is here to help.
