Attendance
Participate in compulsory onsite workshops held between 9am – 5pm for the first five days of the program. A timetable of the workshops will be provided.
Attendance is recorded for the workshops.
Please note you will need to bring your own device to the first week of the course.
Study Load
This option a part-time program.
Students undertaking this program will need to devote at least 15 -20 hours per week during the coursework component of the program.
This option suits students who are working/have other commitments and are looking to balance study at the same time.
Structure
The Practical Legal Training program is undertaken in three components:
- Coursework
- Work Experience
- Continuing Professional Education
Complete all three components to receive your Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and be admitted as an Australian lawyer.
Entry Requirements
To enrol in this program you will need to:
- Be a graduate in law or have qualified to graduate in law (completed your final exam), and
- Your law qualification is Australian or equivalent, and
- Be able to provide proof of completion of your law degree by the Practical Legal Training course census date (unofficial transcript or completion letter is sufficient)
Except in special and limited circumstance, you cannot start your Practical Legal Training in the Australian Capital Territory until you have completed your law degree.

You will have to provide evidence of your law qualification or early commencement letter from the admitting authority by the Practical Legal Training course census date.

- A copy of your Academic Transcript (unofficial transcript or completion letter is sufficient)
- A current colour photo of your face
- Unique Student Identifier (USI)
