Transcript

My name is Tanay Ropeyarn. I am a proud Anggamuthian woman from Injinoo, which is up in the northern peninsula area, Far North Queensland.

As an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander woman, the legal system is very foreign to us. If I could be a link to make that process a bit easier for my people then I would be happy.

I was working full-time in Cairns and I was also studying my Practical Legal Training full-time. I was lucky enough to be given a couple of hours each day from my workplace to be able to complete assignments, readings and all that stuff to be able to complete the training.

I would recommend The College of Law as it's very suited to students who are working because it's very accessible. The lecturers are very helpful and also the intensive on campus is only a week and their support is always there.
