Anthony is one of Sydney’s leading retail lease lawyers. He is Principal Solicitor at Herro Solicitors. He acts for clients in drafting, advising and negotiating leases and in resolving lease disputes. He possesses an in depth knowledge of Retail Leases Legislation (including the Retail Leases Act) and in property law in relation to leases. He has extensive experience in all aspects of retail and commercial leasing- including complex lease negotiations and resolution of lease disputes. His articles have been published in the New South Wales Law Society Journal and on international Law Society websites.
Anthony is appointed by parties under expert dispute resolution clauses in leases to act as an expert to determine retail lease disputes.
Anthony’s advice is sought by Government Ministers and Government bodies to advise on proposed amendments to retail lease legislation. Anthony actively contributes and appears at Government enquiries on retail leasing.
He has achieved many positive results for clients – including some of Australia's major retail brands, international and publicly listed retail brands, family owned and independent businesses, landlords, and new businesses entering into a lease for the first time. He is very determined and committed to achieving exemplary and just outcomes for his clients.
Anthony accepts referrals from other lawyers and in house legal Counsel (and/or acts as agent for other lawyers) particularly in difficult retail lease matters.
Anthony represents clients in Mediation at the Dispute Resolution Unit of the Small Business Commissioner (formerly the Retail Tenancy Unit) and at proceedings in the Administrative Decisions Tribunal, and in the Courts.
Catherine is a partner in the Sydney Property team of Mills Oakley Lawyers. Admitted in 1994, she is a Law Society accredited specialist in property law who loves property law and working with all those in and associated with the industry.
Catherine has worked with a number of leading Australian and Asian property owners and has considerable experience in: acquisition and sale of commercial, industrial and retail properties; leasing; off-the-plan sales; mortgages and advising on issues arising with the ownership and management of property assets. Her leasing expertise includes: stream leasing; leasing of retail, commercial, industrial and strata title properties, special purpose leases and environmentally sustainable (or green) leasing.
Catherine understands that many property transactions are the start of a long term relationship between the parties. She is expert in ensuring that her clients’ needs are met and desired outcomes are obtained whilst maintaining a strong relationship.
Catherine is a member of the Property Law Advisory Committee to the Law Society Accredited Specialist Program and is the author of the Leasing and Land Tax Modules for LexisNexis Practical Legal Guidance.
