Professional Program

Queensland Professional Program

The Queensland Professional Program (QPP) is the College's course of practical legal training in Queensland. The Queensland Legal Practitioners Admission Board has accredited the QPP as a course of practical training leading to admission in Queensland as a legal practitioner.

The QPP is offered by The College of Law Queensland as a joint venture with the Queensland Law Society and is an innovative training course which combines online and face-to-face instruction. The QPP addresses the specific pre-admission needs of the Queensland legal profession. The content of the course is Queensland and Commonwealth Law and practice. Lecturers are experienced Queensland practitioners.

I'm much happier I got such a solid grounding in law through College of Law because it will be a great foundation on which to grow - College Student

The QPP offers:

  • a successful nationally-focused program which prepares its students for practice in Queensland and for national practice.

  • greater accessibility for those in regional areas of Queensland and those with family and/or work commitments

  • increased accessibility and flexibility to those undertaking practical legal training because of its multiple start dates

  • an increased number of practical legal training places in Queensland, to meet the demand from an increasing number of law graduates
  • students associate membership and library access to the QLS

What if I am completing a Traineeship?

In collaboration with the Queensland Law Society, The College of Law Queensland offers the Trainee Admission Program (TAP) for those students undertaking a Traineeship. The TAP is designed to satisfy the mandatory 90 hours of Approved Programmed Training and to provide Supplementary Training if required.
