Payment Options

Upfront Payment Option
If paying upfront, the full course fee is payable with the application. You may be able to claim a tax deduction for the cost of self-education at the time the expense was incurred. Please visit the Australian Tax Office website: www.ato.gov.au for further information.

The College of Law Bursary Scheme
A limited number of subsidised positions will be available to Australian citizens/residents. The aim of the bursary scheme is to pay part or all of the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice fees for students who would otherwise be prevented from undertaking the Program. Indigenous/Torres Strait Islander students are encouraged to apply, if requiring this assistance.

Please complete the Payment Form and submit with all applications. Our Refund Policy and Complaints and Disputes Policy are published in the Course Manual.

FEE-HELP

The College of Law is approved as a Higher Education Provider (HEP) under the Higher Education Support Act 2003. Eligible students are entitled to apply for Fee-HELP loans to pay their tuition fees in the Professional Program.

EFTSL Value
For the information of students making Fee-HELP applications, the College of Law 's Professional Program is a Course of Study which equals a Unit of Study. The Equivalent Full Time Student Load (EFTSL) for the Professional Program is 0.5.

Eligibility
To be eligible for FEE-HELP, you must be an Australian citizen or the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa who will reside in Australia for the duration of the Professional Program. You must also provide your Tax File Number when completing and signing the Request for FEE-HELP assistance form. How to Apply
If you are eligible to apply for FEE-HELP, send in to the Student Services Office your completed Request for FEE-HELP form together with your College of Law Application Form. You must submit the Request for FEE-HELP assistance form when you send in your College of Law Application Form. The Request for FEE-HELP Assistance Form is only available in hardcopy. Fees
The tuition fee for the Professional Program in 2008 is $6280#.
The tuition fee for the Professional Program in 2009 is $6850^
Incidental fees charged by the College are as follows:

  • Early withdrawal penalty $500
  • Course Transfer penalty $350
  • Archive search and reproduction of documents $50
  • Replacement of lost Student Card $10
  • Express Post charges (if required by student): Australia Post charges
  • Remote exams (if required by student): Set by institution hosting the exam
  • Exam Transfer Penalty $50
  • Onsite Fees in London*
    • London Midcourse onsite $1650
    • London Assessment onsite $650

Fee-HELP loans are only available to pay tuition fees and eligible bridging course fees.

# The tuition fee for overseas students is $9490. Overseas students are not eligible to receive Fee-HELP loans.

*Overseas students paying the overseas student tuition fee are not required to pay the onsite fees in London.
