The College of Law is accredited by the Law Society of New South Wales to provide the compulsory Practice Management Course (PMC) for Solicitors who wish to obtain an unrestricted practising certificate to enter partnership, sole practice, or practice as a solicitor-director of any incorporated legal practice or as the solicitor on the record for a corporation or government department.
Courses are available for:

- Partners in 2 - 9 and 10 - 34
- 35+ partner firms
- Corporate & Government lawyers

Completion of the PMC is one element of the Law Society's requirements for obtaining an unrestricted certificate.
The Law Society's Application to change to an unrestricted practising certificate, details on Practising Certificate types and conditions and the Supervised Legal Practice Guidelines for 2008 are available on the Law Society website.

Course Outcomes
At the completion of the course, participants will be aware of issues in relation to:
- the principles of business planning
- developing a financial year strategic plan
- developing marketing, client services and people plans
- preparing and maintaining trust accounts in accordance with the Act, Regulation and Practice Rules
- risk management issues and the role of LawCover
- ethical dilemmas which can occur in practice
- stress management in their professional life.
Please Note: The Law Society Guidelines require 25 hours of study. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory. The course is over 3 days, approx 9am - 5pm each day. Final timetables are issued following registration and prior to the course.
