Applied Law Program
The College of Law has offered the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice for over 20 years and has drawn on its practical education experience and its online expertise to develop a suite of practice based post graduate programs in applied law.
The applied law programs focus on developing technical and practical proficiency through practical problem-based learning. The applied law courses are designed on the basis of learning by doing - the application of legal skills to realistic tasks and scenarios that practitioners encounter in practice. This is enhanced by the increased flexibility and accessibility facilitated by the courses being available online, supported by regular communication with lecturers, and face-to-face workshops with practitioners from the relevant area of law.
The first postgraduate applied law courses offered by The College of Law are in applied Family Law. Further programs are being developed in Commercial Litigation Practice with additional programs to follow.
