The University of Western Sydney Cross Institutional Course is designed for UWS students completing their UWS Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice with UWS. The program provides vocational legal education centred on a training partnership between the College, students and the University of Western Sydney.
The coursework provides structured online learning under the supervision of College lecturers. It is undertaken over approximately 18 weeks.
Please note that the section dealing with the Work Experience and Continuing Professional Education Components of the full Practical Legal Training Program will not be applicable to students in this program, as you will remain a student at UWS. However, all other sections (e.g. assessment rules) of the Course Manual will apply.

For international students undertaking the Program, the fee is $5,952.

Autumn 2010 Commencement - Course Code NP101F_UWS - Program Details
Students are required to attend The College of Law at St Leonards during the UWS Intra session break during the week commencing 19 April, 2010, for three days from 9am to 5pm, and again during UWS Stuvac on 7, 8 & 9 June, 2010, from 10am to 4pm, to complete various assessment tasks and exams.
The program dates are as follows:

Program Workload
Students will need to be mindful of their workload as the cross institutional workload for UWS students at The College of Law is equivalent to about 25 hours per week of study and is the UWS equivalent of 40 credit points.
Eligibility for the University of Western Sydney Cross Institutional Course
Students must seek approval from the UWS Head of Program (GDLP) to undertake cross institutional study at The College of Law. Approval will be granted automatically provided that students are not enrolled in more than 20 credit points in their UWS law degree course and students have satisfactorily completed F7031 at UWS. Students must, on application to the College, supply a letter from the School of Law, UWS, confirming their eligibility to enrol in the program.

Requirements on Completion
When you have completed the University of Western Sydney Cross Institutional Course, the College will provide you with a certificate of completion. Once this certificate has been issued, you are required to advise UWS by filling in an Academic Credit Form. UWS will grant academic credit to satisfy its requirements for F7032 Transactional Legal Practice and F7033 Litigious Legal Practice in the UWS GDLP.
