International Students

The College of Law in Australia is registered to provide the course to overseas students studying in the Australia Program on student visas. Overseas students who seek a student visa for the sole purpose of completing a Practical Legal Training Program can only undertake the CRICOS approved course, which is the full-time face-to-face course at our St Leonards (Sydney) campus (CRICOS Provider Code 01793J)

The College of Law's Practical Legal Training Program is accredited as a Higher Education course in every state and territory and graduates are entitled to receive the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.

Overseas students studying within their own countries may undertake any of the online PLT Program streams. Please note, however, that the online course has two onsite components of two weeks and one week respectively. These can be undertaken in Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, London, Melbourne, and Perth.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is CRICOS?

CRICOS is the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students. Our CRICOS Provider Code 01793J indicates that the full-time face-to-face course at our St Leonards campus is registered as a CRICOS approved course for students seeking a student visa.

I need a student study visa to undertake the College PLT Program; can I undertake an online stream?

No. If you require a student visa you must complete the Coursework Component of the College PLT Program by undertaking the face-to-face course at our St Leonards campus.

My LLB/qualification is from interstate or overseas; will it be acceptable?

The College will accept interstate and overseas law graduates to its PLT Program, successful completion of which leads to the award of the College’s Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. However, you must contact the relevant state or territory authority to find out if your academic qualifications are sufficient for admission purposes in that state or territory.
