Rachel Slat graduated with Honours in law from Macquarie University in 1993. She has worked almost exclusively in family law for the last 16 years. She started in Western Sydney at Maclarens for the first 5 years, then moved to Barkus Doolan Kelly Family Lawyers in the Sydney CBD for almost 8 years. She spent the last 3 1/2 years in the family law group of the commercial firm Swaab Attorneys.
She is trained in collaborative law and is a founding member of the Central Sydney Collaborative Forum. She was recently appointed a partner of Broun Abrahams Burreket Family Lawyers. Her property settlement cases involve complex trust and company arrangements and her parenting cases are often fraught with psychological disorders or abuse and violence.
