Personal Property Securities Act (with Podcast)

The Personal Property Securities Act establishes a single national regime for secured lending over personal property (not real property) and replaces a complex web of common law and legislation, involving over 70 Commonwealth, State and Territory Acts. The importance of the reforms introduced by the PPS Act should not be underestimated. This is a very significant development in Australian law. This Act is now expected to commence during the first half of 2012.
