Legal Profession Regulation 2005 - Regulation 176
In the first part this paper Dr Hayes will describe briefly legislation intended to remove discrimination in the work place concentrating on new developments that have taken place in the last three years and those that have been proposed but are yet to be implemented.
In the second part of her paper she will examine progress in dealing with sexual harassment in the workplace.

Dr Monica Hayes is a senior lecturer at the College of Law. She holds a BA (Hons) and PhD in Psychology and, prior to studying law, taught Behavioural Science and aspects of professional skills to medical students at the University of Newcastle. She then worked for three year at the University of Newcastle developing and implementing an equal employment opportunity management plan.
Monica studied law at Macquarie University and was admitted to practice in 1990. She spent the following nine years practising in the area of personal injury and has been employed at the College of Law since 1999.
