The College of Law Introduces New Masters Program in Commercial Litigation
The Honourable P A Bergin, Chief Judge in Equity, Supreme Court of NSW, launched The College of Law's new Master of Applied Law Program (Commercial Litigation) last week at its city offices in Sydney on 13 May 2009.
Attending the program launch were The Honourable Keith Mason, QC, Former President, New South Wales Court of Appeal, Joe Catanzariti, Chair, The College of Law Board of Directors and Neville Carter, Managing Director of The College of Law, along with members of the advisory panel, members of the profession and potential students.
Commenting on the purpose of the new program, Her Hon Justice P A Bergin observed, "In complex commercial causes, the practitioner must have a firm grasp of the legal principles that affect the circumstances of the client's case to be in a position to analyse the client's predicament and proffer good and commercially sensible advice. This new course endeavours to provide practitioners with practical advice in respect of the resolution of commercial disputes."
Students completing the full program are awarded a Master of Applied Law (Commercial Litigation). Students can also choose to exit the program early with either a Graduate Certificate or a Graduate Diploma.
